…away! Saturday 10 September will see the biggest drag spectacular to ever grace Palmerston North, Palmy Drag Fest, take over the Regent on Broadway! Drag Race Down Under Season One’s Miss Congeniality Anita Wigl’it tells us about the “strangely arousing spectacle” she will be performing!

What can we expect from your performance at Palmy Drag Fest?
A ridiculous, silly and strangely arousing spectacle to be seen to be believed!

Have you ever performed in Palmerston North before, and what do you expect the crowd to be like?
I have but doing my other job which is blowing… a trumpet! I know that a Palmerston North crowd are outrageously wonderful!

What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about drag performers?
That we are all over sexualised ladies of the night… only most of us are.

What is exciting you most about drag right now?
The amount of people that want to see drag live! The love and support for drag is fully-flowing and it makes me so happy! The world needs more fun!

If you could perform a drag show anywhere in the world – where would you choose and why?
I would perform in my first Primary School in England (St Anne’s). I lived in a little town called Nantwich, and although it was a lovely and supportive place, I want to show those fabulous kids that you can do anything with your life. No matter where you come from!
