Notable DC comic character and feminist icon Wonder Woman is officially bisexual according to writer, Greg Rucka.
“Are we saying Diana has been in love and had relationships with other women?” he told Comicosity. “As Nicola and I approach it, the answer is obviously yes.”
The subject of debate for decades, Wonder Woman’s sexuality has never overtly been addressed by show-runners.
Rucka went on to say: “I think it’s more complicated though.
“This is inherently the problem with Diana: we’ve had a long history of people, for a variety of reasons – including sometimes pure titillation, which I think is the worst reason – say, “ooo. Look. It’s the Amazons. They’re gay!”
“And when you start to think about giving the concept of Themyscira [a fictional planet where only women live] its due, the answer is, ‘how can they not all be in same-sex relationships?’ It makes no logical sense otherwise.”
Gregg went on to insist that this means that Wonder Woman has been in relationships with members of the same sex.
Although this revelation is a deserves a total gold star, creators of the upcoming wonder Woman film says that her romantic interest will remain male, in the form of Chris Pine’s Steven Trevor.
