Hoping to one day emulate the Leather scenes of cities like Melbourne, Damien Simpson has started Leather Up Thursdays, meeting at Eagle Bar at 7.30pm on the third Thursday of each month. “It’s a chance to put on leather, have a social drink and check out other men looking hot in their leathers. Some of us even enjoy a cigar in the smoking area out back. We have a dress code which states that you must wear at least one significant piece of leather. There are no bare asses, no frontal nudity and no, harnesses are not a significant piece of leather,” Simpson says. The next Leather Up Thursday takes place on 20 October.
