The Big Gay Out successfully took over Coyle Park for the first time since 2021.
After banning political parties from the stage in 2021, the Burnette Foundation Aotearoa (previously the NZAF) let them return to the stage in 2023. Prime Minister Chris Hipkins attended the Big Gay Out for the first time, pledging to end HIV transmissions in New Zealand by 2030, and paying tribute to the late great transgender MP Georgina Beyer. The National Party also returned to the Big Gay Out Stage, leader Christopher Luxon also pledged his full support to the ending HIV action plan and told the crowd he was having a fabulous time at the Big Gay Out 2023.
