Hamilton Pride Festival 2023 came to a close this weekend after two weeks of festivities. Express exclusively spoke to the Hamilton Pride team about this year’s festival highlights.
“It’s been a full-on 2 weeks of Pride events in Kirikiriroa. Starting with our Pride Picnic and Pooches in the Park,” Hamilton Pride Treasurer Tasker tells express. “This year our theme was Love is Love, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Marriage Equality.
“We had an awesome turnout to all of the events, with great support from the public, businesses, council, police, and community groups.
“This year’s range of events was enjoyed by people of all ages, and it was great to have the Hamilton City Libraries also taking the initiative to set up some fun events for the kids!
“We ended our celebrations with the Love is Love dance party [on Saturday 30 April] which took place at The Meteor Theatre, and was a great way for all to unwind and have fun to conclude the fortnight of celebrations.”
