Express Magazine, New Zealand’s sole LGBTQ+ media, is proud to announce its transformation into YOUR EX, a vibrant and invigorated multi-media platform dedicated to celebrating the diverse voices and experiences of the queer community in Aotearoa.
“I picked YOUR EX up at Countdown Ponsonby”
Express Magazine, now YOUR EX, has consistently upheld its commitment to providing a platform for queer voices to be heard. With the rebranding to YOUR EX, our publication takes an exciting step forward, infusing fresh energy into its mission while preserving the legacy and values it has built over the years and celebrating unapologetically queer humour.
“Can you grab YOUR EX for me?”
As the only independent media outlet of its kind in Aotearoa, YOUR EX’s first issue, out now, includes: trans drag king Hugo Grrrl’s perspective on recent anti-drag sentiment, Sabby Jey on trying to make it as a bi woman of colour in the world of influencers, discussions on gay open relationships in the age of Instagram, comedian Fortune Feimster on the pressures of being a butch-presenting lesbian; plus advocating for the needs of New Zealand’s Intersex community, snapshots from Auckland’s queer scene, diverse fashion shoots with photographer Patric Seng, and historian Gareth Watkins documenting dates from Aotearoa’s queer history.
“You’ll never guess who was in YOUR EX”
“We are thrilled to introduce YOUR EX as the next chapter in our publication’s rich history,” said Oliver Hall, Editor of YOUR EX. “Our goal is to create a space that champions our ever-evolving queer community and publicises its voices, stories and humour. We provide visibility to underrepresented individuals and ultimately foster a sense of pride and empowerment among our readers.”
