Australian television host Sarah Harris has shared a heartfelt tribute to Jesse Baird, her late colleague from Studio 10, during an emotional segment on The Project.

Describing Baird as an “absolute star,” Harris reminisced about his radiant personality, exceptional talent, and generous heart.

The tribute followed the tragic news of Baird’s death at the age of 26, alongside his partner, 29-year-old Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies, in Baird’s home in Paddington. The incident, which occurred on 19 February, is currently under investigation, with Baird’s former partner, Beau Lamarre, facing charges for the double homicide.

Harris, visibly moved, struggled to articulate the profound loss felt by the Channel 10 network, where Baird’s vibrant presence had been a source of joy and inspiration. Baird, whom Harris affectionately referred to as a “friend” and “little brother,” was celebrated for his dynamic on-air presence and his ability to illuminate both the screen and the room with his smile.

Reflecting on Baird’s personal life, Harris shared touching insights into his relationship with Davies, revealing Baird’s deep love and the couple’s hopeful future together. The loss has deeply affected Harris and her colleagues, who extend their condolences to the families of Baird and Davies.
