ADONXS, A Slovakian-born musician and queer activist, has been selected to represent Czechia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.

29-year-old Adam Pavlovčin, known as ADONXS and for his unapologetic queer identity and gender non-conforming outfits, quickly became a notable figure in the music scene. He released several successful singles, including a track that peaked in the national airplay charts, and his debut album was launched in late 2022.

Beyond his musical achievements, he is a dedicated LGBTQ+ advocate. He has participated in campaigns to increase queer visibility in Slovakia, where same-sex marriage remains illegal. Notably, he has been the face of pro-LGBTQ+ advertising campaigns and has lobbied for changes to the definition of “love” in the Slovakian dictionary to be more inclusive of different sexualities and genders. He also performed at a protest march in memory of two queer individuals who were victims of a tragic shooting outside a gay bar in Bratislava.
