Donald Trump is set to sign a sweeping number of executive orders—potentially as many as 200—on his first day back in office, with a ban on trans women competing in female sports expected to be among them.

Trump, who secured a decisive victory over Democrat Kamala Harris in the November 2024 election, has now been sworn into office inside the US Capitol. Throughout his campaign, he pledged to introduce policies targeting transgender rights, including barring trans women from sports, reinstating the trans military ban, restricting LGBTQ+ inclusive education, and dismantling diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in government.

Sources close to the incoming administration suggest that Trump will sign an unprecedented number of executive orders on issues ranging from immigration to energy policy and government operations. The move aims to swiftly enact his campaign promises while undoing policies implemented by outgoing President Joe Biden.

An official familiar with Trump’s plans told Fox News Digital:

“The president is issuing a historic series of executive orders and actions that will fundamentally reform the American government, including the complete and total restoration of American sovereignty.”

They described the first-day agenda as “a massive, record-setting, unmatched first wave,” adding that further executive actions are already in the queue. “This is the most extensive list of executive actions in American history, all guided by a relentless commitment to deliver on the campaign promise.”

On Sunday (January 19), Trump addressed his supporters at a victory rally at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., hinting at the scale of his first-day actions.

“You’re going to see executive orders that are going to make you extremely happy, lots of them,” he told the crowd.

He reiterated his commitment to border security, promising immediate action on immigration. “By the time the sun sets tomorrow evening, the invasion of our borders will have come to a halt, and all the illegal border trespassers will, in some form or another, be on their way back home.”

As Trump returns to the White House, his extensive executive orders signal a rapid policy shift, with LGBTQ+ rights, immigration, and government regulations among the top priorities.
