Troye Sivan is turning up the heat in the studio as he teases new music infused with sensual energy. Fresh off a high-energy tour with Charli XCX, the pop star is diving into the creative process once again—this time, drawing inspiration from sex and queer joy.
In a recent interview with PRIDE, Sivan shared his excitement for his upcoming project, revealing that he’s set to begin recording immediately.
“I am really inspired by sex. We’re going into the studio tomorrow, literally!” he said. “I feel so proud to be a gay man [and] to be a queer man today more than ever.”
Sivan, who has consistently used his platform to celebrate LGBTQ+ identity, also acknowledged the importance of representation in music, particularly in today’s social and political climate.
“There’s an unbelievable showing of resilience and strength. I think we have to look out for each other and have each other’s backs at the moment,” he added.
Backing Sivan on his journey is his longtime collaborator and powerhouse songwriter, Leland. Known for his work with A-list artists and his contributions to RuPaul’s Drag Race, Leland expressed excitement for what’s to come.
“It’s incredibly special. We definitely don’t take it for granted and we feel like we’re just getting started,” Leland said.
Beyond working with Sivan, Leland also revealed that he recently wrote the upcoming Drag Race Rusical, an ambitious project he worked on remotely while on tour.
With his last album, Something to Give Each Other, praised for its sensuality and queer storytelling, fans can expect Sivan to push boundaries even further with his next era. While no release date has been confirmed, one thing is clear: his next project is set to be his boldest yet.
