Peppa Oliveira, the iconic Brazilian music producer and DJ known professionally as Boss in Drama, has passed away at the age of 37. Her death was reported on Saturday, 1 February.
A pioneer in modern Brazilian pop music, Peppa was widely celebrated for her work, particularly her collaborations with rapper Karol Conká. Over the years, the duo created several queer anthems, including Saudade, Farofei, Lista VIP, and Toda Doida.
According to sources, Peppa had been booked to perform at an event in Manaus, Brazil, on 8 March 2025. While the lineup had yet to be announced, she was confirmed as a scheduled act.
Details surrounding Peppa’s death have not been disclosed as friends, family, and loved ones mourn her passing and request privacy.
Her final Instagram post, shared on 10 January, featured two selfies with the poignant caption: “Now I walk toward the sun, where the light reveals the strength that has always been within me.”
On 22 January, Peppa also took to X to celebrate Karol Conká’s performance at the Corrida das Blogueiras live finale. She shared a clip of Conká performing their hit Lista VIP, tagging @DivaDepressao, the creators and hosts of the popular reality competition show.

She added: “You have no idea how important and meaningful Boss in Drama is in my life. I’m feeling a lot of things right now. I’ll always be grateful for having met such a special, intelligent, loving, talented, funny person… I MISS YOU SO MUCH. I LOVE YOU, PEPA.”
Several other Brazilian celebrities also took to social media to honour Peppa’s legacy, including comedian Dani Calabresa, music producer Rodrigo Gorky (known for working with Pabllo Vittar), singer Johnny Hooker, drag artist Lia Clark, musician and actress Linn da Quebrada, and journalist Fefito.
