Grammy-winning rapper and singer Doechii has been announced as the headliner for the WorldPride DC 2025 Street Festival & Closing Concert on Sunday, June 8. The free event will mark the grand finale of the global LGBTQ+ celebration.
“The Sunday Closing Ceremony and Concert is a moment of reflection, unity, and celebration as we acknowledge the challenges before us in preserving the freedoms we’ve fought for and ensuring members of our community do not get left behind,” said Ryan Bos, executive director of the Capital Pride Alliance.
“Doechii’s unique artistry and unapologetic authenticity make her the perfect artist to close out this historic event.”
A Star-Studded WorldPride Lineup
WorldPride DC 2025 will feature a variety of events throughout May and June, including DC Latinx Pride, Trans Pride Washington DC, DC Black Pride, a film festival, a sports festival, a parade, and more. However, one of the biggest highlights is the WorldPride Music Festival, taking place June 6-7 at the RFK Festival Grounds.
This two-day festival, which boasts three stages, is set to be the largest LGBTQ+ music festival in history. The star-studded lineup includes Jennifer Lopez, Troye Sivan, RuPaul, Kim Petras, Tinashe, and more.
In addition to the music festival, WorldPride DC will feature multiple high-profile concerts:
- Welcome Concert (May 31 at Nationals Park): Shakira will take centre stage as the headliner.
- Post-Parade Concert (June 7): Oscar-nominee Cynthia Erivo will perform at the Capitol Concert Stage, with the U.S. Capitol Building serving as a breathtaking backdrop.
- Closing Concert (June 8): Doechii will deliver the festival’s final performance, bringing the celebration to an electrifying close.
The Fabric of Freedom
This year’s WorldPride theme, “The Fabric of Freedom,” represents the unity and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. It serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight for equality and the strength found in diversity.
