The 2025 Christchurch Pride Festival kicked off with a vibrant and defiant display of solidarity and celebration during the Walk of Support on Saturday. Despite the presence of protests from Destiny Church, the event shone brightly, epitomising the strength and diversity of our communities. In a striking twist, several Christian groups joined the day, not in support of Destiny Church, but to oppose their message of hate, homophobia, and transphobia. These Christian allies, carrying banners of love and acceptance, provided a powerful counter-narrative to the divisive rhetoric.
