Bianca Castro-Arabejo, better known as Jiggly Caliente from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 4, has passed away at the age of 44, according to an announcement on her social media.

“A luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy, Jiggly Caliente was celebrated for her infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity,” her family shared via Instagram. “She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world.”

Health Struggles Before Passing

Earlier this week, Castro’s family revealed she had undergone the amputation of most of her right leg and would not be returning as a judge on the next season of Drag Race Philippines, nor would she participate in any public engagements for the foreseeable future.

A Legacy on Screen and in the Community

Jiggly Caliente first rose to fame in 2011, finishing eighth on season 4 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She came out as transgender in 2016 and continued her career by competing on RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars season 6 and becoming a main judge on Drag Race Philippines. She also portrayed Veronica Ferocity in Ryan Murphy’s acclaimed FX series Pose.

Her contributions to both the entertainment industry and the LGBTQ+ community made her a beloved figure across the globe.

News of her death has prompted an outpouring of grief from fellow drag performers and fans.

Morphine Love Dion, from Drag Race season 16, wrote on Instagram: “I cannot stop crying. I love you so much I wish I can hug you one more time this can’t be real…”

Meanwhile, Drag Race UK season 1 star Baga Chipz commented: “One of the kindest, sweetest souls I’ve ever met. I’m gonna miss you beautiful. Thank you for always being so lovely. Rest easy legend.”
