A spokesperson from the Burnett Foundation Aotearoa has confirmed that two controversial kink-related articles removed from their website were not penned by the MP.
‘Sh*t Talk: Part 1 – What is scat?’ and ‘Part 2: A deeper dive into scat’ were the subject of online hate aimed at the Foundation after Twitter conspiracy theorists claimed that they were written by beleaguered MP Benjamin Doyle, who had previously held a position of Pou Whakahaere Māori with the Foundation.
“The content was temporarily archived in response to it being the target of hate groups online, that were also sharing upcoming Burnett Foundation events putting our staff and community at risk. Our first and foremost priority is the safety of our whare. As we see increased hate and threat directed at our communities, it’s more important than ever that we stand together and look after each other,” a Burnett Foundation Aotearoa spokesperson told Your Ex, adding that, “For safety reasons, we do not include bylines in our articles.” (A byline is typically where an article’s author is named.)
However, today the spokesperson has confirmed to YOUR EX, “that the article was not written by Benjamin Doyle and was developed by our Marketing team.”
They also tell us the articles will return to their website.
“This content will be back, and we will continue to share sex-positive public health content that meets our communities’ needs,” the spokesperson said.
