Pop sensation Lil Nas X has officially pulled out of his headline appearance at the 2025 Outloud Music Festival at WeHo Pride, citing health concerns.
The announcement was made via the festival’s social media channels on Thursday morning, confirming that the “Industry Baby” star will no longer be performing.
“Over the past few days, we’ve been in close contact with Lil Nas X and his team regarding an ongoing medical issue,” the organisers posted on Instagram.
“Due to this, we are sad to announce that Lil Nas X will no longer be able to perform at Outloud Music Festival at WeHo Pride.”
Lil Nas X also shared a personal message with fans through the festival:
“After my recent hospital visit, I – like all of you should – must prioritise my health and getting back to 100%.
As it currently stands, I would not be able to perform the type of show my fans and community deserve. I am sorry! Even though I can’t be there, I hope you all show OUT for Pride. Now more than ever, we need to be seen.”
Health Concerns Following Hospital Visit
In April, Lil Nas X was hospitalised after experiencing partial facial paralysis, Rolling Stone reported at the time.
“Soooo lost control of the right side of my face,” he wrote in an Instagram post from a hospital bed, though he did not disclose the underlying cause of the condition.
It’s unclear whether the recent decision to withdraw is directly linked to that incident, but the artist has been candid about prioritising recovery.
Album Rollout and Uncertainty Around ‘Dreamboy’
Prior to his hospital visit, Lil Nas X had been preparing for the release of his upcoming album Dreamboy. He had recently dropped singles “Hotbox” and “Leon on my Body” following a shake-up in his team late last year. However, the current status of the album remains uncertain.
Remi Wolf Steps In
Outloud organisers have announced that rising queer star Remi Wolf will take Lil Nas X’s place on the festival’s Main Stage.
“A HUGE thank you to rising queer star Remi Wolf for stepping in and joining us on our Main Stage,” the announcement read.
“We can’t wait to welcome Remi to Outloud at WeHo Pride.”
Remi Wolf will now headline alongside previously announced acts Lizzo, Kim Petras, Pabllo Vittar, and more. The Outloud Music Festival at WeHo Pride is scheduled to run from 31 May to 1 June 2025 at West Hollywood Park, with events from 1 p.m. until midnight each day.
Festival organisers concluded their statement by wishing Lil Nas X a swift and full recovery.
