Auckland’s beloved queer nightlife just got an upgrade. Basement hotspot G.A.Y has officially expanded—introducing Pink Pony, a new ground floor bar that opens on Friday 6 June, bringing a fresh new vibe to the city’s most iconic queer club.
Situated directly above G.A.Y’s signature basement venue, Pink Pony offers a vibrant new space for partygoers looking to mix up their night. The two venues are cleverly connected via a back staircase, so you can seamlessly move between dance floors, DJs, and atmospheres.

Hosting duties for the month of June are in the hands of drag superstars Crucifix June and Ruby Reveal, ensuring the party kicks off with flair, fashion, and fierce performances.
With a cheeky nod to Chappell Roan’s viral anthem, the spirit of Pink Pony can be summed up simply:
“I’m gonna keep on dancin’ at the Pink Pony Club.”
Whether you’re craving the sweaty chaos of the basement or a new scene with sparkle upstairs, Pink Pony adds a whole new layer of colour to Auckland’s queer nightlife.
