It’s the end of an era for Heartstopper fans: filming for the upcoming Heartstopper movie, Heartstopper Forever, has officially wrapped in London.
The Netflix film, due for release in 2026, marks the final chapter in the beloved queer coming-of-age series created by Alice Oseman. While plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to conclude the central romance between Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) as the couple navigate their evolving relationship and Nick’s transition to university life.
Oseman, who adapted the story from her original graphic novels, announced the wrap on Instagram, sharing an image of a tree with “N+C” carved into it. The caption read:
“Day 35. That’s a wrap on the Heartstopper film.”
She reflected on the experience, writing:
“I’d never worked in a team in my career before working on the Heartstopper screen adaptation, and the shoots have shown me what magic can happen when so many creative minds come together… Heartstopper means the world to me… it’s been met with so much care and passion and dedication and love.”
“Now we begin the edit!”
The cast also took to social media to express their emotions about leaving their characters behind.
Kit Connor shared a heartfelt Instagram story, posting a photo of himself and Joe Locke in Charlie’s bedroom with the caption:
“Wrapped. Thank you for everything.”
Locke posted a behind-the-scenes image of the pair, writing:
“Bye Charlie x <3”
He added on his story: “Wrapped forever.”
Heartstopper Forever will serve as a love letter to the show’s loyal fanbase and a full-circle conclusion to one of the most tender queer teen stories ever brought to screen.
