Australian pop star Troye Sivan has reunited with Spanish singer-songwriter Guitarricadelafuente for a mesmerising new remix — and this time, he’s singing en español.

The remix, titled Midsummer Pipe Dream, is a reimagining of Guitarricadelafuente’s original track Pipe Dream and continues the creative connection sparked on Troye’s 2023 album Something to Give Each Other, where Guitarricadelafuente (real name Álvaro Lafuente) was the album’s only featured artist on the song In My Room.

“Closing the circle” with music and meaning

Speaking about the collaboration, Álvaro shared just how much it means to him to share this musical exchange with Sivan.

“Closing the circle with Troye has been an incredible experience. Being the only feature on each other’s albums feels deeply meaningful to me,” he said.

“In many ways, Pipe Dream picks up where In My Room left off — drifting further into that intimate space, leaving the listener suspended in a dreamlike state.”

While Sivan doesn’t appear in the official music video, his delicate Spanish-language vocals accompany Álvaro on the chorus, marking a standout moment for fans.

From Paris to collaboration

The pair’s musical journey began with a chance meeting in the City of Light.

“I met Guitarricadelafuente and his boyfriend in Paris at a dinner, and they were so sweet,” Sivan shared in 2023.

“When I got back to the hotel, I started listening to his music, and I was just really, really inspired. So I messaged him that we should write sometime.

“We wrote In My Room in one day. It’s the only collaboration on the album, and I love that it’s with a queer artist.”

A bromance beyond the booth

Their friendship has extended beyond the studio. During his Primavera Sound set in Spain last month, Sivan performed wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with “Full Time Papi”, a nod to Guitarricadelafuente’s single of the same name from his May 2025 album Spanish Leather.

This latest collaboration between two queer artists — each celebrated for their emotional storytelling and melodic vulnerability — has fans basking in the glow of a partnership that feels as natural as it is tender.
