It feels like barely any time has passed since Drag Race UK crowned Kyran Thrax as the winner of Season Six, and already the next instalment is on its way.

In a surprise move, the first teaser for Season Seven landed this week, promising that viewers will meet a fresh lineup of queens very soon. However, this announcement wasn’t quite what many fans had anticipated.

A Surprise Instead of the Rumoured Announcement

While the drag world has been enjoying All Stars 10 winner Ginger Minj’s victory lap, fans have been hungry for fresh content, with much chatter centring around a possible All Stars 11 cast reveal.

Despite Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale premiering this week, World of Wonder had more up its sleeve, officially confirming via social media that Drag Race UK Season Seven is “coming soon.”

The announcement came in the form of a cheeky eight-second teaser featuring close-ups of the upcoming queens — from arms to legs and other glam snippets — before revealing:

“Start your engines, racers! Meet The Queens of #DragRaceUK S7 premieres August 22.”

Fans Left Wondering About Other Spin-Offs

The news has sparked excitement, but also curiosity about other long-rumoured UK spin-offs.

Back in December, speculation was rife about a third season of Drag Race UK Vs The World, with whispers of a Down Under queen joining the cast. An alleged cast list circulated online — changing multiple times — and rumours claimed filming took place in January 2025.

Given that the second season, which crowned Tia Kofi in February 2024, was followed by Drag Race UK Season Six later that year, many assumed the same release order would happen again. Yet, no official word from the BBC or World of Wonder has confirmed the existence of a third season.

Similarly, talk of a possible Drag Race UK All Stars season — which would make sense after six main seasons — has also gone quiet.

What’s Happening Elsewhere in Drag Race World

While speculation swirls, fans are keeping entertained with the French All Stars season, which is serving plenty of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.

Meanwhile, in our neck of the woods, following a successful fourth season of Drag Race Down Under, there’s still no clarity on a fifth season. Hopes for a Down Under All Stars series have also seemingly fizzled.

For now, all eyes are on August 22, when Season Seven of Drag Race UK is expected to sashay onto screens.
