Chord Overstreet, one of the stars of the beloved musical TV series Glee, has revealed juicy details about a mysterious nude photoshoot he did at the peak of the show’s success – and the internet is now on a mission to find the missing pics.
The actor, known for playing the hunky, often-shirtless Sam Evans, dropped the bombshell during a Celebrity Weakest Link reunion episode alongside his former co-stars.
And while the shoot reportedly went ahead, the elusive images have never been released — prompting fans (especially queer ones) to rally behind Jane Lynch’s hilarious call to action: “Find those Playgirls!”
Chord Overstreet Bares All for Playgirl… Kind Of
Glee exploded onto screens in 2009, instantly becoming a pop culture sensation known for its musical numbers, outrageous plot twists, and cast of colourful characters.
Among them was Overstreet’s Sam, who first appeared in Season Two. With his blonde hair, blue eyes, and washboard abs, he quickly became a fan favourite – and frequently appeared shirtless on screen, earning the cheeky nickname “Trouty Mouth.”
Overstreet proved so popular, he was promoted to a series regular in Season Four and stayed with the show until it wrapped in 2015.
But apparently, the public thirst for Sam didn’t stop there.
The $100,000 Photoshoot Offer
During the Weakest Link reunion episode hosted by Jane Lynch (who played Sue Sylvester on Glee), Lynch posed a pointed question to Overstreet.
“You got a $100,000 offer at the time, Chord – what was that for?” she asked.
To the shock of his castmates, he replied:
“I got asked to do a full front spread in Playgirl,” he revealed.
Gasps and laughter followed from his fellow stars, including Amber Riley, who chimed in:
“You actually shot it?”
“We shot it, we filmed it,” Overstreet confirmed.
“I pocketed the money – and it was the biggest issue they’d ever had: preorders, presales… and then my publicist pulled it off the rack.”
“So, it’s out there… it’s out there somewhere.”
“America, This Is Your Mission!”
Naturally, Lynch couldn’t resist making it official:
“America, I’m giving you a task,” she declared.
“This is your mission, should you choose to accept it: Find those Playgirls!”
Cue the internet going wild.
The Online Hunt Begins
Within hours of the episode airing, fans were already on the case, with social media posts begging for the hidden photos to be released.
One user wrote:
“I wonder which will get released first: the Epstein files or the Playgirl photos of Chord Overstreet. I know which one I’m hoping for… @chordoverstreet release those photos.”
The hashtag #Please #ChordOverstreet is gaining traction, with queer Twitter (and let’s be honest, most of the internet) now obsessed with tracking down the photoshoot that almost was.
Whether the elusive Playgirl images ever surface or remain locked away in a publicist’s vault, one thing is certain: the gays will not rest until the mission is complete.
