The queens of Drag Race Down Under are jetting off to Europe for an international showdown in Down Under vs the World — a brand new spin-off set to showcase Aussie and Kiwi drag talent on a global stage.
Streaming platform World of Wonder confirmed the upcoming series back in August, on the heels of Drag Race Down Under Season Four, which wrapped in December 2024. That season saw a shake-up with Michelle Visage stepping into RuPaul’s iconic role as host.
Now, according to reports from TV Tonight, filming for the international spin-off is set to take place in Lisbon, Portugal. Michelle Visage is returning as host, accompanied on the judging panel by Aussie comedian Rhys Nicholson and the reigning Drag Race Down Under champion, Lazy Susan.
All-Stars Go International
While the official cast list is still being kept under wraps, speculation is rife. The European location has raised hopes that high-profile queens from across the continent will be involved. Back in August, international drag stars including France’s La Briochée, Italy’s Lina Galore, and Canadian queens Ilona Verley and Eve 6000 all hinted at their excitement about the project via social media.
Previously, Drag Race Down Under was filmed in Auckland, and the first three seasons were screened on TVNZ.
