British comedy icon Eddie Izzard has postponed her 2025 New Zealand tour after sustaining a knee injury requiring surgery.
Promoters confirmed that Izzard will be unable to travel while she recovers, prompting the rescheduling of all three Aotearoa performances.
“Unfortunately, due to a knee injury requiring surgery Eddie Izzard is unable to travel to New Zealand as she requires time to recover,” the promoter said in a statement. “We regret any inconvenience this has caused, and we hope that you can make the rescheduled date.”
Ticket holders do not need to take any action, with all existing tickets automatically valid for the new dates in May 2025. Those unable to attend may request a refund through Ticketmaster before 5pm, Thursday 11 December 2025.
The new schedule for Eddie Izzard – The Remix is as follows:
Rescheduled New Zealand Dates — May 2025
The Remix Tour offers Izzard the chance to revisit and reimagine some of her most iconic comedic moments from a remarkable 35-year stand-up career, spanning from The Ambassadors (1993) to Wunderbar (2019). Long-time fans may find themselves reunited with beloved characters such as Darth Vader in the Death Star canteen, Mr Stevens, or even the famously indecisive pears.
“In the first 35 years of my stand-up career I came up with many weird and crazy comedy stories. The ones I like the best will be in my 2025 live Remix Tour,” Izzard said of the show.
With her trademark surrealism, wit, and philosophical tangents, Izzard’s live performances are never quite the same twice—so audiences can expect surprises, new riffs, and unexpected detours.
The show is recommended for ages 15+ and may contain coarse language and adult themes. Accessible seating and a virtual accessibility tour are available, though children under three cannot be seated on laps.
New Zealand audiences will now have their chance to see The Remix this May as Eddie Izzard returns to the stage following her recovery.
