Queer cruising app Sniffies has released its annual data report, revealing some eyebrow-raising insights into global sexual trends — and crowning Melbourne as the world capital of “swallowers.”
The location-based platform, launched in 2018, is designed to facilitate casual encounters, particularly in public spaces, and has grown into a global hub for queer cruising culture.
Global Cruising Trends Revealed
Unsurprisingly, San Francisco topped the charts as the busiest Sniffies city, hosting the largest single group (a “pump and dump” session with nearly 600,000 attendees) as well as the most groups overall.
However, when it comes to specific sexual preferences, other cities made their mark:
- Melbourne claimed the highest percentage of swallowers globally.
- Sydney stood out as both the “curiosity capital” and a “jock hub.”
- London took the lead in jockstrap lovers.
- New York City was top for mask enthusiasts.
The app also shared that not all cruisers identify as gay. In fact:
- 42.3% of users in 2025 identified as bisexual or bicurious, and
- 25% said they were straight or straight-curious.
The top fetishes of the year? “A**”, “hard c***s”, and “armpits”.
Eli Martin, Sniffies’ Chief Marketing Officer, said the platform’s data shows just how active and diverse the cruising community has become:
“The 2025 Sniffies Download proves people aren’t just fantasising; they’re getting out and doing something about it.
“From lunch breaks to parks to groups, cruisers are turning curiosity into real-world experiences. And while desire is universal, every city puts its own twist on cruising, creating local cultures that reflect what guys there are actually into.”
