If it’s your first time at Auckland’s Eagle Bar, here’s our recipe for a perfect night: Start by weaving your way across the busy dance floor to the friendly bar staff. For the full Eagle Bar experience, order the venue’s signature Long Island Iced Tea — but sip slow, because it packs a punch.
Just to the left of the bar, you’ll find Eagle’s iconic jukebox. At the end of every song played, another track can be selected for free, with up to ten songs lined up in the queue. Pick your favourite tune, then make your way out to the back patio — one of the best spots in the bar to meet people and strike up a conversation. With another nine songs likely to play before your pick comes on, there’s plenty of time to make a few new connections before heading back to the dance floor for a boogie.
Once you’ve had a dance, grab another drink and choose another song. Then head into the lounge area behind the bar for a breather. Sink into one of the comfy couches and take in the famous 27 Club wall, featuring tributes to Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and more. Before long, you’ll be rounding up the new friends you’ve made and making your way back to the dance floor.
It’s all part of another unforgettable night at Auckland’s Eagle Bar!
