Hundreds of dog lovers and rainbow community members gathered at Western Park in Ponsonby on Sunday, 8 March 2026 for Woof! – The Auckland Rainbow Dog Show, one of the city’s most colourful events. The annual celebration saw fabulous pups strut their stuff down the runway in categories like Best Dressed, Most Camp and Dog & Owner Lookalike, bringing plenty of laughs, sequins and wagging tails to the park.

This year’s judging panel featured comedian Justine Smith, actor Ben Barrington, drag icon Buckwheat, and former MP Louisa Wall, who helped crown the day’s most stylish and cheeky canine contestants. With costumes, community spirit and plenty of adorable four-legged stars, Woof! once again proved to be a highlight of Auckland’s rainbow calendar. 🐾🌈
