Clavicular faces fresh backlash after storming out of TV interview and another trans-related livestream incident

Clavicular’s public image has taken another hit, with the controversial influencer now facing backlash over two separate incidents: walking out of a television interview and appearing in another uncomfortable encounter involving a transgender woman on a livestream.

The “looksmaxxing” creator, whose real name is Braden Eric Peters, abruptly ended a 60 Minutes Australia interview with correspondent Adam Hegarty after being asked whether he identified with the incel community. Variety reported that the exchange became tense after Hegarty raised links between looksmaxxing culture, incel spaces and the broader manosphere.

“Do I identify as an incel?” Peters said. “I mean, how could you ask me that question as a follow-up after you asked me about my relationships to women. I mean, that’s quite literally the worst sequence of questions I think I’ve ever heard.”

When Hegarty rephrased the question by pointing out that looksmaxxing had obvious associations with incel culture, Peters rejected the link. “I’m not linked to that group in any way,” he said, arguing instead that looksmaxxing was about self-improvement and, in his view, moving away from that category rather than embracing it.

The interview deteriorated further when Hegarty asked about Peters’ relationship with Andrew Tate. People reported that Peters became visibly agitated as questions turned to Tate, who is facing multiple serious criminal charges including rape and human trafficking allegations, which he denies. Peters accused Hegarty of trying to make the interview political, insulted the reporter, then removed his microphone and walked off set.

Peters has also drawn renewed criticism over a separate incident during his ongoing Kick livestream. According to Them, he and a group of friends approached two women in a shopping mall, with Peters making a flirtatious remark before appearing to realise one of them was transgender. He then reacted with surprise and walked away laughing with his group. The outlet noted that it was unclear from the clip whether the laughter was directed at the woman herself or at Peters’ own awkwardness in the moment.

The mall clip is not the first time Peters has been criticised for behaviour involving trans women. Them reported that this was at least the second such incident in recent weeks, following an earlier livestream confrontation involving trans women at a restaurant.

These episodes come amid a broader period of negative attention around Peters. People and other outlets have recently reported on his arrest in Florida over an alleged battery case, adding to the perception that his increasingly provocative online persona is spilling into wider controversy offline as well.

For critics, the latest backlash is not only about one bad interview or one awkward clip. It is about a growing pattern: inflammatory content, hostility when challenged, and repeated run-ins with misogynistic and transphobic undertones. That final point is an inference based on the pattern of reported incidents rather than a direct quote from a single source.
