Scary Spice shuts down hopes of a Spice Girls comeback

Mel B has officially crushed any remaining hopes of a full Spice Girls reunion. After years of fan speculation that the iconic girl group might one day come back together, Scary Spice has now made it clear: it is not happening.

For years, Spice Girls fans have jumped on every hint of a possible comeback, and Mel B has often been the member most willing to keep that hope alive.

She has spent years teasing the possibility in interviews, suggesting reunion talks were happening behind the scenes and keeping fans guessing about whether the group might return.

But despite all the rumours and repeated bursts of excitement, nothing has ever properly materialised.

With 2026 marking 25 years since the group officially split, many had hoped this might finally be the year the stars aligned for a reunion.

Instead, Mel B appears to have firmly closed the door.

Speaking to Hello Magazine this week, she said:

“I can tell you it’s not happening.”

She added that she has stopped trying to rally the group now that she is in her 50s.

“If it does, it’ll be a shock to me, let’s put it that way. When I look at that [2019 tour] and at the feeling it gave me, I was in my element, but there comes a time … I’m 50. You can’t be nagging everyone to go on tour if they don’t want to. I laid that to rest when I turned 50.”

Even if the group were to reunite in some form, it sounds as though touring is no longer something Mel B is especially interested in.

“I’ve got fond memories, but I don’t know if I would want to go back up on stage,” she said.

While she may have stepped away from campaigning for a Spice Girls comeback, Mel B has hardly disappeared from view.

In recent years, she has kept herself in the spotlight through a steady stream of reality television appearances.

During her time in Australia, she has appeared as a judge on The X-Factor, The Voice Kids and The Masked Singer. She has also featured in UK and French versions of reality formats as a contestant.

Internationally, she is perhaps best known in recent years for her role as a judge on America’s Got Talent, where she served from 2013 to 2018 before returning again in 2025.

Most recently, she was announced as one of the celebrities set to appear in the upcoming celebrity edition of Squid Game, where she will compete alongside stars from around the world.
