URGE GRUNT took over Phoenix Auckland on Saturday 9 May, inviting partygoers to unleash their inner fetish and celebrate the darker, sweatier side of queer nightlife.
More than just a dance party, GRUNT delivered a sensorial night of leather, gear, uniforms, sports kit and unapologetic self-expression, creating a space where gay culture could feel raw, playful and powerfully liberated.
DJs Butter Chick, James Leuii and Ryan Borne kept the floor moving, while a fierce performance from Syr Satyr added an extra charge to the night.
True to URGE’s reputation, GRUNT was not about fitting in. It was about stripping away convention, embracing desire, and dancing hard in celebration of authentic queer selves.
