Romeo Beckham To Make Acting Debut In Queer Tennis Romance Forty Love

Romeo Beckham is officially entering his actor era, and his first project already sounds like it could become a new obsession for fans of sports dramas, slow-burn tension and beautiful people having emotional crises on the tennis court.

Studiocanal has unveiled the first look at Forty Love, a new French romantic drama from acclaimed fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, who makes his feature directorial debut with the film.

The movie stars Beckham alongside French actors Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet and Benjamin Voisin, with an appearance from screen legend Catherine Deneuve. Studiocanal is handling worldwide sales, with the film set for release in French cinemas on 25 November 2026.

A tennis rivalry that turns into something more

At the centre of Forty Love is Sacha Gallo, a rising tennis star who has spent his life training with his father for one goal: winning a major title in Paris.

Everything changes when a magnetic new rival enters his orbit, played by Romeo Beckham.

But this does not appear to be a simple sports story about beating an opponent across the net. Instead, Forty Love takes the rivalry somewhere far more intimate.

According to the synopsis, Sacha discovers that the greatest challenge of his life is not competition, but love. As ambition, identity and desire become increasingly tangled, he is forced to confront feelings more complicated than any championship match.

Honestly? They had us at queer tennis drama.

Romeo Beckham steps beyond fashion

While Forty Love marks Beckham’s first acting role, he is no stranger to the spotlight.

The son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham has spent years building a career in fashion, modelling for luxury houses including Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.

Now, he is stepping into an entirely new creative lane, taking on what is being described as a charismatic rival and love interest opposite Kircher’s Sacha.

The film also arrives at a time when queer sports dramas are having a serious cultural moment. Between the lingering impact of Challengers and the rise of same-sex sports romances on screen, Forty Love looks ready to serve tension, beauty and emotional chaos in equal measure.

When can you watch it?

French audiences will get the first look when Forty Love arrives in cinemas on 25 November 2026.

An international/Kiwi release date has not yet been announced.

For now, “Paris-set queer tennis romance starring Romeo Beckham” is going straight onto the list of films we need to see.
