Troye Sivan appears ready to give fans something new. Just one day after the third anniversary of his hit single “Rush.”
The openly gay Australian singer shared a provocative black-and-white photograph on Instagram, prompting speculation that his next musical chapter could be approaching.
The image shows Sivan posing in lace underwear and a leather coat. Its caption consists of just one word: “Soon.”

Although Sivan has not confirmed exactly what the post is promoting, the teaser arrives as he prepares to release new music created for the forthcoming television drama The Shards.
Following the success of Something to Give Each Other
Sivan’s most recent studio album, Something to Give Each Other, was released in 2023 and explored desire, intimacy, relationships and queer sexuality.
The project helped take his career to a new level. “Rush” earned two Grammy nominations, for Best Dance Pop Recording and Best Music Video, while “Got Me Started” received a further nomination for Best Dance Pop Recording. These remain Sivan’s first three Grammy nominations.
The album’s visual era was equally memorable.
The sweaty, sexually charged video for “Rush” became a celebration of queer pleasure and nightlife, while the “One of Your Girls” video saw Sivan transform into drag and perform a lap dance for actor Ross Lynch.
He later joined Charli xcx for the Sweat Tour, with the pair creating numerous viral moments and welcoming guests including Lorde, Kesha, Addison Rae, Tate McRae and Saweetie.
Sivan said new material was “inspired by sex”
Sivan had already begun hinting at his next project during the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Speaking on the red carpet, he revealed that he and longtime collaborator Leland were preparing to return to the studio.
“I am really inspired by sex. We’re going into the studio tomorrow, literally! I feel so proud to be a gay man [and] to be a queer man today more than ever.”
Sivan also reflected on the importance of queer artists remaining visible and supporting one another during a difficult period for LGBTQ+ communities.
“[There’s an] unbelievable showing of resilience and strength. I think we have to look out for each other and have each other’s backs at the moment,” he said.
New music confirmed for The Shards
While Sivan has not formally announced another studio album or single, fans will soon hear new material from him in The Shards.
Sivan and Leland have contributed original music to the FX drama, alongside singer and cast member Hayes Warner. Inspired by the programme’s 1980s setting, the songs will help establish its atmosphere of sex, suspense and obsession.
Based on Bret Easton Ellis’s novel, the series follows a group of wealthy Los Angeles students whose lives become entangled with jealousy, desire, paranoia and a serial killer.
The Shards is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in the United Kingdom on 6 August, with regional release arrangements varying.
The project marks another collaboration between Sivan and Leland, who has helped write several of the singer’s best-known tracks, including “Rush” and “One of Your Girls”.
Whether the lace-clad “Soon” post is teasing music from The Shards, a separate single or the beginning of an entirely new album campaign remains unknown.
However, after an era defined by sweat, sex and unapologetic queer expression, Sivan’s latest photograph suggests he is preparing to turn up the heat once again.
