PICS: FRISKY’s Winter Olympics Party Sends Queenstown Out With A Bang

Queenstown’s big queer weekend reached its sweaty, sporty climax last night as FRISKY’s Winter Olympics Sportswear Party took over Rhino’s for an all-night celebration of boys, beats and barely-there athletic wear.

The main event of FRISKY Queenstown’s Big Chill Weekend saw partygoers embrace the sportswear theme in everything from rugby shorts and wrestling singlets to harnesses, netball skirts and plenty of creative interpretations in between. Behind the decks, Jimmy Fade, Ney Like A Horse and James Johnson kept the dancefloor moving, with the Wellington PartyBoys hosting the action through until 4am.

YOUR EX’s Matt Fistonich was there to capture the night, snapping the faces, fits and after-dark antics as Queenstown turned the temperature right up.

And while that brings FRISKY’s Queenstown weekend to a close, the party is far from over.

FRISKY is heading north for a pair of huge Halloween parties, starting in Christchurch on Saturday 3 October at The Assembly, where costumes are mandatory and DJs Jimmy Fade, Zac and D.Angelo will take over the decks.

Then it’s Wellington’s turn, with FRISKY Halloween hitting El Barrio on Sunday 25 October for Labour Weekend, running from 10pm until 4am with another full night of costumes, house, tech and techno.

So Queenstown may be done — but FRISKY season is only just getting started.
