Christian evangelist Gabe Poirot says the Jesus he claims to have encountered while in an 18-day coma was anything but “soft or passive” — describing him as intensely masculine, nearly six feet tall and possessing “testosterone like a Mustang”.
A Christian influencer’s highly specific description of Jesus is going viral again after he claimed Christ appeared to him as a strikingly masculine figure during a near-death experience.
Gabe Poirot, an evangelist and social media creator, says he encountered Jesus after a serious electric-skateboard accident in October 2021 left him in a coma for 18 days.
Speaking to Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany in an interview originally broadcast in March, Poirot rejected what he sees as overly gentle depictions of Christ.
“They didn’t meet a female Jesus. They didn’t meet a soft or a passive Jesus. Jesus is a man,” Poirot said.
He argued that Jesus had been “misrepresented” in American culture as simply a tolerant figure.
“There’s so many cultural things that present him as if he’s just some tolerant guy. It’s not the Jesus I met.”
‘Talk about testosterone’
Poirot’s description became considerably more physical from there.
He compared the Jesus he says he encountered to both a lion and a Mustang, before offering an unusually precise estimate of his height.
“He was 5’11”, like six feet, yet as tall as eternity,” Poirot said.
He also described Christ as “pure fire” and said his eyes appeared to burn white and red.
Then came the line that has driven much of the renewed attention online:
“Talk about testosterone! Like a Mustang.”
Poirot also called Jesus the “Lion of Judah” and said there was a “roar within his voice”.
The interview was first published by Fox News on 14 March 2026, but clips began circulating widely again in early October, prompting a fresh round of online commentary.
What happened to Gabe Poirot?
Poirot says his experience began after an accident on 25 October 2021, when he fell from an electric skateboard travelling at close to 30 miles per hour.
He suffered a serious traumatic brain injury and remained unconscious for 18 days.
Poirot has said he spent the first several days in a naturally occurring coma before being kept medically unconscious as part of his treatment.
He claims that during that period he experienced leaving his body, entering Heaven and meeting Jesus face-to-face.
Those spiritual elements are Poirot’s personal account and cannot be independently verified.
Even Poirot has acknowledged that the title of his book, 18 Days in Heaven, does not mean he perceived himself as literally spending 18 Earth days there. In another interview, he said the encounter itself felt like only a matter of minutes.
From near-death story to bestselling book
Poirot has turned the experience into a major part of his evangelical ministry.
His book, 18 Days in Heaven: I Left My Body. I Met Jesus. What He Told Me Will Alter Your Eternity, was released in April 2026 and recounts his version of the accident, coma and alleged encounter with Christ.
He has subsequently appeared across Christian podcasts, television and social media discussing the experience and encouraging audiences to embrace Christianity.
His description of Jesus has drawn particular attention because of its repeated emphasis on masculinity, physical strength and gender.
Poirot later pushed back against social-media descriptions of his account as a vision of “MAGA Jesus”, saying that was not what he intended.
He said his reference to the “Lion of Judah” was intended to convey Christ’s “strength, love, authority, courage, and meekness”, rather than a political identity.
Whether his account is understood as religious testimony, a near-death experience or something else entirely is ultimately a matter of belief.
But few modern descriptions of Jesus have been quite so specific about the testosterone.
