Over three decades after his death, a remarkable revelation has emerged: Freddie Mercury, legendary frontman of Queen, had a secret daughter. The news is detailed in a forthcoming biography that offers fresh insights into the private life of one of music’s most enigmatic icons.

Love, Freddie, written by acclaimed biographer Lesley-Ann Jones, is set for release later this year. It includes testimony from Mercury’s daughter, who identifies herself only as “B.” Her story sheds light on a deeply personal relationship that remained hidden for nearly five decades.

“Freddie Mercury was and is my father,” she writes in a letter reproduced in the book. “We had a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life.”

Born 48 years ago, B remained out of the public eye throughout Mercury’s career and beyond. Despite being raised privately, she reveals that Mercury was a consistent and loving presence in her life until his death in 1991, when he died of pneumonia related to AIDS.

While Mercury is revered as a gay icon, he was openly bisexual and had relationships with both men and women. His most notable partnership was with Mary Austin, to whom he was once engaged, though the couple never had children.

According to B, in the final days of his life, Mercury entrusted her with a deeply personal legacy — seventeen volumes of his handwritten journals. She kept these private for more than three decades before recently deciding to share them with Jones for the biography.

“He adored me and was devoted to me,” she shares. “The circumstances of my birth may seem unusual and even outrageous by some standards, but it never detracted from his love or commitment.”

Though her mother’s identity has not been disclosed, B makes it clear that she was raised by another family in a private, stable environment. “He cherished me like a treasured possession,” she reflects.

B, who now lives and works in Europe as a medical professional, remains anonymous by choice but confirmed that she has children of her own — meaning that Freddie Mercury has grandchildren the world is only just learning about.

The revelations promise to add a profound new chapter to the story of one of music’s most legendary figures.
