Cartoon Network has clapped back at homophobic trolls after sharing a heartfelt Pride Month message — and fans are loving it.

Over the weekend, the network posted fan art on its official Instagram account featuring beloved queer characters, including Princess Bubblegum and Marceline from Adventure Time, celebrating Pride. The artwork was accompanied by an empowering caption:

“You are an experience. Pride is a reminder to live bravely in your authenticity. Use your voice, stand up for others and spread love.”

🤢 Trolls Tried It

Predictably, some users responded with homophobic comments. One troll wrote: “My childhood is gone, there is nothing else to say,” while another posted a string of vomiting emojis.

But Cartoon Network didn’t let the comments go unchecked.

To the user mourning their “lost” childhood, the network savagely replied:

“Doesn’t seem like you’ve grown up though.”

And to others upset by the artwork, the account added:

“Watching comments be mad about characters from a show that aired 15 years ago… some of [you] need to rewatch some episodes.”

The post quickly drew applause from fans, with one writing:

“Watching grown men get bent outta shape about this never fails to make me laugh, happy Pride.”

Another added: “Cartoon Network forever has my heart for this.”

📺 Queer Representation That Matters

Cartoon Network has long been praised for including LGBTQ+ storylines and characters in its programming. The romance between Princess Bubblegum and Marceline, once subtle, was officially confirmed in later Adventure Time content, much to the delight of queer fans.

As Pride Month continues, Cartoon Network’s response highlights the importance of standing firm in the face of bigotry — and doing it with a bit of sass.
