The finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 wasn’t just a crowning moment for Ginger Minj—it was a record-breaking episode that pulled in the highest ratings for the spinoff series in three years.
After the first-ever Tournament of All Stars season — which introduced a bracket system, MVQ points, and a mix of chaos courtesy of Mistress Isabelle Brooks, plus the return of fan favourite Nichole Paige Brooks from Atlanta, Georgia — Ginger emerged victorious.
While her win stirred up online debate, it’s official: Ginger Minj now resides in the Drag Race Hall of Fame. And it seems the show’s new format is just as much a winner as she is.
Ratings Up, Drama High
According to The Wrap, the All Stars 10 finale posted the highest viewership since All Stars 7, marking an 11% increase on the All Stars 9 finale.
Thanks to the tournament twist, the entire season saw stronger numbers than its predecessor, with a 15% overall increase compared to the charity-based All Stars 9 — all backed by internal network data.
The Lip Sync Smackdown: $200K on the Line
The finale brought back the remaining seven queens — Aja, Bosco, Daya Betty, Ginger Minj, Irene the Alien, Jorgeous, and Lydia B. Kollins — who were joined by wildcard queen Kerri Colby for a classic lip sync smackdown.
In a series of fierce performances, Ginger and Jorgeous emerged as top contenders, winning their preliminary rounds and squaring off for the crown (and the $200,000 prize) to “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls.
Both queens were Drag Race veterans: Ginger had previously appeared on Season 7, All Stars 2, and All Stars 6, while Jorgeous returned after her Season 14 debut and All Stars 9 appearance.
Ginger Responds to Favouritism Claims
Despite the ratings win, Ginger has addressed the online backlash, including claims that she was unfairly favoured by producers.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she said:
“I wish I could say I don’t let it bother me, but I do. Of course I care what people think, particularly when it’s a project I’ve put all of me into.”
She pushed back on the narrative of favouritism, noting that RuPaul had no hesitation in putting her in the bottom in earlier seasons.
“I’ve done this competition three times before, and Ru hasn’t had an issue making me lip sync or sending me home.”
“Once I was announced for All Stars 10, before the first scene of me even aired, the chatter started. They built that narrative themselves. All I can do is my best and live in the success of the moment.”
