Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have officially listed their luxury farm estate in the UK’s Cotswolds region for a staggering $30 million USD, just months after settling in and citing political unrest in the US as the reason for their move.

The celebrity couple relocated to the idyllic English countryside in late 2024 following Donald Trump’s re-election, with DeGeneres later confirming, “It’s because of Trump.” She also revealed the pair’s intention to remarry in the UK.

Their estate, which UK Sotheby’s International Realty is now marketing, was purchased for $20 million USD earlier this year. After just a month of living there, however, the couple have decided to sell in favour of a home more suited to their growing menagerie of animals.

“When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses,” DeGeneres said. “We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.”

A Scenic Slice of Countryside Luxury

The estate itself is nothing short of spectacular: a seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom masterpiece spread across 43 acres, complete with a heated swimming pool, a party barn with a pub, a glass walkway, and a heated five-car garage.

Since purchasing the property, DeGeneres and de Rossi have undertaken extensive renovations, with DeGeneres often offering fans a humorous peek into their countryside lifestyle via Instagram.

In one video from May, DeGeneres joked:

“Some people have a dream of becoming a farmer; clearly, our dream was to become a landscape maintenance crew with a little farming on the side.”

In the clip, the former talk show host is seen pruning bushes, muttering, “Ow, these are sharp even through the gloves,” while de Rossi trims another hedge nearby. “Good job, baby,” DeGeneres calls out, before feeding their chickens.

In June, another clip showed sheep wandering inside the home. “We have house sheep,” she quipped, as animals made themselves at home indoors.

Final Moves from the US

In March, DeGeneres listed one of her remaining properties in Montecito, California, for $5 million USD. By April, she was showcasing sweeping views of her Cotswolds estate online.

This move to the UK marks a clear shift for the couple, who appear to be leaning into a quieter, rural life far from the political chaos they cited as a motivator to leave America.

At the end of 2024, Netflix released Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, her first major project since her daytime talk show ended in 2022 amid controversy and staff allegations of a toxic workplace culture.
