Kevin Spacey has reached an out-of-court settlement with three men who accused him of sexual assault, avoiding a civil trial that had been scheduled to take place at London’s High Court later this year.
The allegations stemmed from incidents said to have occurred between 2000 and 2013, during Spacey’s tenure as artistic director of London’s Old Vic theatre.
As part of the agreement, the legal cases have been formally stayed, bringing this round of civil proceedings to a close. The terms of the settlement have not been made public.
Two of the claimants had previously given evidence during Spacey’s 2023 criminal trial in London, where he was acquitted of nine charges, including sexual assault.
A third accuser, Ruari Cannon — who has chosen to be publicly identified — alleged he was groped at a party held at the Old Vic. Cannon also appeared in the Channel 4 and HBO documentary Spacey Unmasked.
Earlier this month, Cannon reached a separate settlement with the Old Vic theatre in relation to his claims.
Spacey has consistently denied all allegations since they first surfaced in 2017.
