World of Wonder has confirmed the death of Drag Race Philippines contestant Misua, who was just 27.
The much-loved queen had been due to compete in season four of the hit series, but production has now been paused following the sudden loss. Jason Elvie Ty, better known by the stage name Misua, “passed away in her sleep the morning of April 2”, according to a statement shared on Instagram.
Season four had only recently begun filming, and the full cast had not yet been officially revealed. Even so, tributes to the performer have already begun pouring in across social media, with fans and fellow queens sharing messages of grief and remembrance.
Condolences continue to flood online for the talented artist, whose death has left the Drag Race Philippines community in mourning.
