Urge Events’ Locker Room party, which was due to take over K Road this weekend, has been postponed, with organisers confirming the NZ Falcons fundraiser will now take place on Saturday 18 July.
The annual party, which raises funds for the New Zealand Falcons inclusive rugby team, had originally been scheduled for Saturday 20 June. In a social media update, Urge told partygoers: “Please note we have changed the date to July 18th. Apologies but it was out of our control. Refunds at iTicket if you can’t make it. Gonna be an even better night now!!”
The move follows ongoing fire and safety compliance issues affecting the G.A.Y / Phoenix / Pink Pony location at 258 Karangahape Road.
Locker Room is one of Urge’s most anticipated community fundraising nights, combining the brand’s signature celebration of men’s bodies, identities and dancefloor energy with a worthy sporting kaupapa.

This year, funds raised will help support the NZ Falcons as they prepare to travel to Brisbane for the Bingham Cup, the world’s largest gay and inclusive rugby tournament. The Falcons are Aotearoa’s leading gay and inclusive rugby club, creating playing opportunities for gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and straight players and supporters in an environment built on inclusion, visibility and whānau.
Funds will help cover costs including flights, accommodation, transport and player entry. Locker Room gives the wider rainbow community a chance to get behind the boys while enjoying one of the cheekiest nights on the Urge calendar.
As always, the party will come with plenty of heat. The Falcons Dancers are set to perform, with shows choreographed by Falcons team member Alby. Urge Events’ Paul Heard told YOUR EX that he had had a glimpse of rehearsals and says the boys are looking sharper, sexier and more polished than ever.
There will also be ‘Urge dollar bills’ available to buy on the night, giving punters the chance to ‘make it rain’, shower the team with notes during their performances and add even more fundraising fun to the floor.
Named in honour of Mark Bingham, the Bingham Cup carries a powerful legacy. Bingham was an openly gay rugby player who helped grow inclusive rugby before he was killed aboard United Airlines Flight 93 during the September 11 attacks in 2001. The international tournament that bears his name has since become a global celebration of LGBTQ+ sport, courage, camaraderie and visibility.
Urge Locker Room – NZ Falcons Fundraiser now takes place on Saturday 18 July at Phoenix, Level 1, 258 Karangahape Road. Ticket holders who can no longer attend can request refunds through iTicket.
