Description

Join Auckland’s orchestra for our popular Community Classics across Tāmaki Makaurau!

Celebrate cinema as the orchestra plays extracts from memorable movie soundtracks, including The Piano, The King’s Speech and Lord of the Rings.

Plus, the premiere of a special orchestral arrangement of Mo'omo'oga Sa Molia from the film TINĀ. Composed by Igelese Ete and arranged by Thomas Goss, this moving work will bring together the full force of the orchestra with Auckland Gospel Choir and guitarist Posenai Mavaega (featured in the original soundtrack!).

New Zealand actor Kevin Keys will guide you through the concert, bringing an extra level of insight to the music and movies.

Emerging young Kiwi artists take centre stage, with Haydn Staples Piano Scholar Matthew Seinafo performing a solo from The Piano and rising star Damon Herlihy-O’Brien playing the first movement of Elgar's Cello Concerto.

Gather the whānau together for an uplifting afternoon of music for everyone.
