In early 2021, Wellington Pride Festival cancelled an application for a stall at Out In The City for the group Lesbian Action for Visibility Aotearoa (LAVA). Now their right to refuse LAVA’s stall will be debated at a Human Rights Review Tribunal next year.

Our colourful community was on full vibrant display at Wellington Pride Festival's annual Out In The City event which took on the Michael Fowler Centre over Saturday 18 March.

Wellington's biggest GLBT+ day out moved from its regular spot in Waitangi Park to the Michael Fowler Centre to avoid the need for a rain date. The full-day event attracted an estimated 10,000 people with stalls, workshops and performances from top community talent.
