Kesha has been having a hard time of it with the legal system not breaking her contract with producer Dr Luke, but it hasn’t stopped her from forging through and helping those in the LGBT+ community.
In a video for Vevo, Kesha outlines why she votes: she does it because “using your voice and your truth, and standing up, and talking about what you believe in, and voting, that is your power. And you need to use it.” This comes from her talking about how some current legislators are restricting the rights of LGBT+ people – the governor of North Carolina for instance – and how she never found same-sex relationships to be different, as growing up, she was constantly surrounded by love in general, regardless of sexuality and gender.
