In a twist of events, Buttercream Bakeshop donated the profits from its Trump inauguration cake to Human Rights Campaign (HRC). Many media outlets have reported that the cake looked a lot like Barack Obama’s, and in an Instagram post, they have confirmed it.

HRC is the largest LGBT+ civil rights organisation in the USA. HRC President Chad Griffin says of the inauguration, “it is more important now than ever before for us to organise, mobilise, and fight in solidarity against hate and any attempts to roll back the rights of LGBTQ [sic] people. No matter who sits in the Oval Office, HRC won’t back down an inch in the fight for full equality and the equal dignity of each and every American. Forward.”
