As police investigate a couple accused of breaching Auckland’s level 4 restrictions, Cruz published their names on Facebook.

Christchurch Gay Bar Cruz has weighed into the controversy surrounding an Auckland couple who allegedly broke level 4 restrictions by flying to the South Island, by naming them on Facebook.

The couple – a 26-year-old female and a 35-year-old male are accused of crossing the alert level 4 border south of Auckland using essential worker exemptions, before driving to Hamilton Airport and then flying to their holiday home in the South Island town of Wānaka.

Police have confirmed they would be prosecuting the pair, with a court date set for next week.

In a social media post seen by express, Cruz published the names and occupations of the accused as well as the position of a parent of one of the accused on Facebook at around 6 pm last night, asking people to share the post in order to “put faces to those names.”

The Facebook post was the bar’s first since May of this year.

It is unclear what exactly Cruz was wishing to do with any possible photos the post may have generated, it also cannot be confirmed whether the names published by Cruz are indeed the pair at the centre of the restriction breaking controversy.

express has chosen to not share the names or occupations of those Cruz posted about.

The Facebook post has now been deleted.
