Authorities in Sydney have located two bodies, believed to be the missing individuals Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, who were last seen on February 19.

The discovery follows the arrest of police officer Beaumont Lamarre-Condon on charges of murdering Baird, 26, and Davies, 29, after he surrendered to police on February 23.

Lamarre-Condon, who initially withheld cooperation and details from the investigation, reportedly disclosed the location of the bodies on February 27. The deceased were found on a rural estate in Bungonia, roughly 185 kilometres from Sydney, concealed under rocks and debris near the property’s entrance.

Detective Superintendent Daniel Doherty revealed the belief that the murders took place at Baird’s residence in the Sydney suburb of Paddington, where evidence including a bullet from Lamarre-Condon’s service firearm and substantial blood traces were uncovered.

The tragic event has profoundly impacted the LGBTQ+ community, prompting Sydney Mardi Gras parade organisers to exclude police participation in this year’s event; while the police expressed disappointment over the exclusion, they have affirmed their commitment to continue supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
