Australia’s official entry for Eurovision 2025 has been announced, and it’s already turning heads. Viral TikTok sensation Go-Jo (real name Marty Zambotto) will take his track “Milkshake Man” to Basel, Switzerland, this May, bringing an infectious pop anthem filled with cheeky wordplay.

The high-energy, trance-infused song has all the makings of an online sensation, much like Go-Jo’s 2023 hit, “Mr. Hollywood”. However, it’s the lyrics that have people talking.

A Playful Yet Provocative Anthem

Go-Jo proudly declares himself the “Milkshake Man”, delivering lyrics packed with suggestive metaphors:

“Come and take a sip from my special cup. I heard that you could use a little pick-me-up.”

The chorus continues:

“You can call me the milkshake man. I wanna shake and make the whole world dance. They drink my milk all across the land; I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man.”

The euphemistic references haven’t gone unnoticed, with fans and critics alike noting the bold double entendres scattered throughout the track.

Go-Jo’s Vision for the Song

Despite the risqué interpretation, Go-Jo insists the song is about self-expression and confidence.

“The ‘Milkshake Man’s’ purpose is to inspire people to embrace the loudest and proudest version of themselves, and I can’t think of a better place to share that message than the Eurovision stage,” he shared in a statement.

“It’s an absolute dream come true to represent such a beautiful and diverse nation, and I’ve never been more excited to share my art and vision with the incredible Eurovision fans around the world.”

A Wild Music Video to Match

The song’s music video leans into its playful theme, featuring Go-Jo in a striped vest and later a blue lycra jumpsuit, mixing milkshakes inside an ice-cream truck turned nightclub. Fans press against the windows, desperate for a taste, while Go-Jo himself indulges in over-the-top antics—licking the van’s window, smashing a milk bottle over his head, and even passing out from too much milkshake.

Adding to the song’s Eurovision credibility, it was co-written with members of Sheppard—George Sheppard, Amy Sheppard, and Jason Bovino—giving it an extra pop polish.

Eurovision 2025 Shaping Up to Be Unforgettable

Go-Jo’s eyebrow-raising entry isn’t the only controversial Eurovision 2025 track. Malta’s submission, “Kant” by Miriana Conte, has also sparked discussion. BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills has even suggested it will likely never be played on the station due to its playful yet provocative lyrics. While “kant” translates to “singing” in Maltese, in queer slang, it closely resembles the phrase “serving ct”**, often used to praise someone’s outstanding performance.

With Eurovision’s semi-finals kicking off on 13 May and 15 May and the grand final on 17 May, Go-Jo’s Milkshake Man is sure to shake things up on the world stage.
