Excitement is building as speculation swirls around Aussie pop icons Troye Sivan and Kylie Minogue making surprise appearances at this year’s Mardi Gras Party in Sydney.

With the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade set for this Saturday night (March 1), the official after-party will kick off at the Hordern Pavilion in Moore Park from 10 pm.

For weeks, whispers have hinted that both Troye and Kylie might drop in unannounced. Now, Troye’s representatives have confirmed he will be attending — but whether he’ll take the stage remains a mystery.

Meanwhile, Kylie is locked in for a performance at Qudos Bank Arena on the same night as part of her Tension Tour. However, sources suggest she may also be heading to the Party afterwards, though details about a performance remain unverified.

The Mardi Gras team has been tight-lipped, but they have been dropping cryptic hints. On January 31, organisers revealed the final lineup, adding US singer-songwriter Leland—who was listed as performing with “Leland & Friends.”

“Welcome to the party Leland, and we don’t mind if you bring your friends,” Mardi Gras teased, promising “a very special set.”

Fans were quick to speculate on which of Leland’s famous friends might make an appearance. Leland has a close working relationship with Troye, co-writing his hits Rush and 1999 (with Charli XCX). He also collaborated with Kylie, co-writing Someone For Me on her 2024 album Tension II.

Other headline acts at the Mardi Gras Party include UK singers Romy and Hayla, as well as US DJ Honey Dijon.
