Nicholas Galitzine has given fans a first glimpse of himself as He-Man in the highly anticipated live-action Masters of the Universe film, confirming that production is officially underway after months of rigorous training.
The actor, known for his roles in queer-centric projects such as Mary & George and Red, White & Royal Blue, has now embraced the legendary Mattel superhero. Following ongoing speculation, Galitzine took to Instagram on Monday (24 February) to reveal the transformation, sharing a striking image of himself as Prince Adam of Eternia.
“After several months of intense training, I’m thrilled to share that we’re officially in production on #MastersOfTheUniverse,” the 30-year-old actor captioned his post.

The image showcased a close-up of Galitzine’s sculpted, shirtless physique as he wielded He-Man’s iconic Power Sword. He also praised director Travis Knight for assembling “the most incredible ensemble cast” and crafting a visually stunning depiction of Eternia.
“I can’t wait for you to see. More to come, but until then, here’s a sneak peek at the Sword of Power. By the power of Grayskull!” he added.
While plot details remain largely under wraps, IMDb describes the film’s storyline as follows: “In the furthest regions of space, the kingdom of Eternia is threatened by the villainous Skeletor and his armies of darkness. To save his father’s kingdom and protect those he loves, young Prince Adam must retrieve a mythical sword and transform into the legendary warrior known as ‘He-Man’.”
Galitzine first confirmed his involvement in May last year, sharing his excitement via Instagram. “I’m so beyond proud to announce that I will be playing Adam, Prince of Eternia in Masters of the Universe,” he wrote.
The long-awaited adaptation has faced years of delays, with the project initially set up at Warner Bros. and Sony in 2007 before moving to Netflix, which later scrapped it in 2023 due to budget concerns. Now back on track, the film boasts a star-studded cast, including Idris Elba and Jared Leto.
Masters of the Universe is set to hit cinemas in June 2026.
