A newly released mini-documentary delves into the world of Porn Star University, a unique training ground where straight men engage in gay adult content under the guidance of OnlyFans star Andy Lee.

The 20-minute film, directed by Jon Dean for his podcast All Out with Jon Dean, takes viewers behind the scenes of Lee’s unconventional content creation process.

Inside Andy Lee’s ‘Porn Star University’

Andy Lee, an Irish adult content creator, has built a successful career on OnlyFans by producing amateur-style gay porn, often featuring his straight tradesmen friends. His Porn Star University, based in a repurposed training college in Cambridge, serves as both a filming location and a learning hub for aspiring adult content creators.

The site includes a variety of sets, such as a gym, a “chav living room,” a boardroom, a taxi, a car mechanic’s garage, a building site, and a bondage room. Some of the more extreme sets include an original abandoned toilet, where Lee films content that is reportedly popular with his audience, and a bottomless portaloo designed for specific fetish scenes.

In one particularly large-scale scene, Lee recently filmed in the studio’s locker room with 25 men.

‘I’m Straight, But I Do Stuff With Men’

Despite his involvement in gay adult content, Lee asserts that he identifies as straight.

“People can’t understand how you can be straight and do stuff with men as well,” he says in the documentary. “People ask me what my sexuality is. I say, ‘Well, I’m straight.’ They’re like, ‘How can you be straight? It’s not possible for you to be straight.’ I’m like, well, I’m only physically attracted to females.”

Many of the men featured in Lee’s content also identify as straight and have never engaged in penetrative sex with men. However, they do participate in activities such as oral sex and group masturbation.

One performer in the documentary even admits he has a fiancée and children but cites the lucrative nature of amateur gay porn as his reason for participating.

Debating the Ethics of ‘Gay for Pay’

The concept of straight men performing in gay content has sparked discussions within the LGBTQ+ community. Some argue it takes financial opportunities away from gay performers, while others see it as simply part of the industry.

One gay actor from Lee’s studio defends the practice, questioning why consumers critique “gay for pay” performers while still paying for their content.

“Every single person that comes to this studio, there’s no divide,” he tells Dean. “People always say to me, ‘Oh, they’re just gay for pay.’ Yeah, but you’re the one paying for it? So what makes that right and what makes that wrong?”

He also highlights the challenges of performing in adult content, especially for those who are not naturally attracted to men.

“They work just as hard, if not harder, because they have to get physically hard,” he adds.

Training the Next Generation of Adult Content Creators

Beyond filming, Porn Star University also functions as an educational space for OnlyFans creators. Lee provides guidance on setting up an account, creating engaging content, and handling the business side of the industry.

The training includes practical tips on filming techniques, editing, camera work, and social media marketing. Lee also emphasises the importance of legality, consent, STI testing, and financial management.

“A lot of people think they know what to do,” he explains in an adjacent podcast episode. “They think it’s taking feet pics and posting ’em online, but it’s not. To be successful, there’s a lot to it.”

By offering structured guidance, Lee’s Porn Star University aims to help newcomers navigate the complexities of adult content creation while ensuring ethical and legal standards are met.
